LGBTQ Yosemite Family Elopement
The original plan for Samantha and Mary’s Yosemite elopement was scrapped due to weather conditions—the trail was closed! A few days before the wedding, I suggested we change locations and rework the plans for the day. We met at Tunnel View, overlooking the valley, for a first look as clouds crept over El Capitan. It was a beautiful and relaxing way to start the morning before heading off to explore the valley for couples’ photos.
Later, we met up with their families for a ceremony on a sandy beach with El Capitan towering above them. Their loved ones had traveled from different places to witness this special moment, and the blue skies broke through the clouds, creating a stunning backdrop.
Afterward, we explored more of the valley, taking our time to roam the valley floor and discover hidden gems for photo opportunities. We ended the day in a meadow, enjoying cake they had brought from home! It was the perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, family time, and breathtaking views for Mary and Samantha’s Yosemite elopement.
