Off-Roading Elopement in Colorado
When people ask me what is the best area to elope in Colorado and the answer is always the same: The San Juan Mountains. Why? Because it has the best off roading in the country. Yes, the country!
This area is surrounded by volcanic peaks and is a Jeepers paradise. This is hands down the best place to combine an off-roading experience into your elopement day! So when Vee and Joe reached out about off roading for their elopement, I knew exactly where to start the planning process.
I sent over a couple different route options in the months leading up to their elopement before we decided on this secluded basin with some epic jagged peaks surrounding them. We set out on the off-roading route before sunrise and arrived in time for them to share their vows with some soft alpenglow behind them. It was pretty special to catch that light and watch them share their vows in such a beautiful backdrop!
The entire area has some of the best off-road routes but I think this one was perfect for Vee and Joe! We explore the surrounding area in the Jeep and went off roading to a broken down mine before popping champagne and drinking it on top of the Jeep!
This was on the top of my favorite elopements of the summer and I can’t thank Vee and Joe enough for trusting me to help pick out this awesome off road route and capture their elopement. It was one for the books!
