K & C Buena Vista Elopement

It’s not often I work with couples for Colorado elopements, so Kelly and Cassidy’s elopement in Buena Vista felt extra special from the start. Instead of chasing a new location, they chose an off-roading spot they’ve loved for years—one they visit with their families every summer. A place already filled with memories.

We drove up as the rain rolled in and started the day with a quiet first look by the lake. From there, we piled into Kelly’s Jeep and off roaded up the pass, swapping stories about how they met at the drag races while the weather closed in around us.

We pulled over near a massive field of wildflowers where they exchanged vows with their dog by their side—simple, personal, and deeply meaningful. Higher up the pass, they shared a picnic and wandered through sunset light for couples photos before heading back down the mountain.

As the sun disappeared, they ate sandwiches in the car, soaking in the calm of a day that felt effortless and real. Kelly and Cassidy didn’t just elope somewhere beautiful—they chose a place that already felt like home.
