Georgetown, CO Covid Elopement
I know this summer was filled with Covid wedding stories but there isn’t one quite like Macy and Robbie’s. These two went through the absolute wringer before finally climbing the mountain and saying “I do” in Georgetown, Colorado. First, they were planning on eloping in Alaska before failing their Covid test upon arrival. All of their vendors refused to do any work with them until 2022. They were distraught as they were forced to quarantine in their hotel room for 10 days. The anxiety, anger and sadness filled them before a spontaneous hair popped up their noses.
They went searching for elopement photographers in Colorado before finding me. We chatted over the phone while they were stuck in their hotel in Alaska and talked about the possibility of them diverting their plane ride to Denver on the way back home. They pulled the trigger that night and were officially getting married in Colorado! They purchased new plane tickets for their trip home and we started the planning. It was probably the shortest planning turnaround I’ve ever had to do but we had everything mapped out in a few days after they filled out my questionnaire!
We then set out for a hike near Georgetown when the rain started pouring down and these two didn’t flinch. It was almost fitting because Macy had rain boots packed in her bag for her trip out to Alaska. It’s kind of amazing how positive your attitude about weather can be when you’ve already jumped through so many different hoops.
We explored the surrounding area and captured some super fun and moody photos before they shared their vows with the epic lake in the backdrop. Overall this was a super fun experience and I am so grateful I was able to help Macy and Robbie finally get married. They absolutely deserved every bit of the special day!
