Imogene Pass Elopement
When Ron and Jared reached out about their Colorado elopement, they had a different location in mind before I pitched an off-roading elopement option in the San Juan mountains, and it did not disappoint! We met up at 4 a.m. and piled into the Jeep under a sky full of stars. We climbed Camp Bird Road out of Ouray and up toward Imogene Pass, swapping stories and doing our best not to look too closely at the drop-offs on either side.
At the top of the pass, they changed for their first look right beside the Jeep, each choosing a different side to get ready on. It ended up being the perfect setup as the sun began fighting its way through the clouds. They shared their first look, then exchanged vows, pulling their wedding bands from a Harry Potter book custom-cut with a hidden compartment inside the “Unbreakable Vow” chapter. Easily one of the coolest, most personal ring moments ever!
Afterward, we wandered through Imogene Basin for couples portraits, with Ron and Jared soaking in the unreal views of the Sneffels Range and, on a clear morning, the Cimmarons. They wrapped up their elopement by popping some bubbles and signing their marriage license on the hood of the Jeep, a rad start to one seriously adventurous marriage.

I’m the founder of Vows & Peaks, and I don’t just show up with a camera. I plan your day, scout the spot, handle the permits, and build a mountain adventure around the two of you.
