Ron & Jared Ouray Elopement

Colorado is one best places to elope for couples looking to go off-roading on their wedding day. When Ron and Jared reached out about their Telluride elopement, they actually had a different location in mind before I pitched an off-roading option and it didn’t disappoint! They booked an elopement package that included a private 4×4 drive, so we met up at 4 a.m. and piled into the Jeep under a sky full of stars. We climbed higher and higher into the mountains, swapping stories and doing our best not to look too closely at the drop-offs on either side of the road.

At the top of the pass, they changed for their first look right beside the Jeep, each choosing a different side to get ready on. It ended up being the perfect setup as the sun began fighting its way through the clouds. They shared their first look and then exchanged vows—pulling their wedding bands from a Harry Potter book that had been custom cut with a hidden compartment inside the “Unbreakable Vow” chapter. Easily one of the coolest, most personal ring moments ever.

Afterward, we wandered through the surrounding basin and along the lake for couples portraits, with Ron and Jared soaking in the unreal views of the Grenadier and Cimarron Mountains. They wrapped up their epic elopement by popping some bubbles and signing their marriage license on the hood of the Jeep—an unforgettable start to one seriously adventurous marriage.
